Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CitedOrNot ("CitedOrNot", "we", "us", or "our"), accessible at citedornot.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
CitedOrNot is a Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) platform that monitors how your brand is mentioned across AI search engines including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, and Google AI Overviews. The Service queries these engines using keywords you configure and reports on brand visibility, competitor appearances, and content opportunities.
You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@citedornot.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may not share your account with others, create accounts by automated means, or register under false pretences.
New accounts receive a 3-day free trial with access to a limited set of features, including tracking up to 1 brand, 2 keywords per brand, 1 competitor, and scans via ChatGPT and Gemini.
At the end of your trial, access to the dashboard is suspended until you subscribe to a paid plan. Trial data is preserved during this period. We reserve the right to change trial terms at any time with notice.
Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Prices are displayed on our pricing page. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your billing portal. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months unless required by applicable law.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices with at least 14 days' notice. Your continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes your agreement to the new price.
Scan quota. Each plan includes a monthly allocation of AI engine checks. Unused checks do not carry over to the next billing period. We may offer additional quota top-ups for purchase at stated rates.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to the Service until payment is resolved. After a reasonable grace period, we may cancel your subscription.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

The Service queries third-party AI engines on your behalf. Results depend on the AI provider's responses at the time of the scan and may vary between queries. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content generated by any AI engine.
You acknowledge that AI engine responses are probabilistic and that visibility scores are estimates, not guarantees. Nothing in the Service constitutes a guarantee of search or AI ranking outcomes.
Our IP. The Service, including its software, design, algorithms, and content, is owned by CitedOrNot and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
Your content. You retain ownership of the brand names, keywords, and other content you input into the Service. By entering content, you grant us a limited licence to use it solely to provide and improve the Service.
Feedback. If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Service, we may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate, complete, or reliable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CitedOrNot and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or related to these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CitedOrNot and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
